Helping Hands is a nonprofit charity, serving the people of Ocala/Marion County. It was established to provide shelter and related assistance for the homeless, and others who are in difficult situations. Besides shelter, we assist our residents with jobs, food, clothes, medical, dental, transportation, counseling, Bible study and fellowship, and other needed services.
Helping Hands currently owns and operates
two apartment buildings in Ocala.
The first apartment building has ten fully furnished two bedroom units. The second apartment building has eight two bedroom units and is being used exclusively for women and children in need. The charity also operates two Thrift Stores, The Helping Hands Thrift Store and The Treasure Shoppe in order to help underwrite support services and expenses.
